These photos are of a salt dough nativity I've been making. I'm currently painting all the figures which is turning out to be a messy job. I'm enjoying myself a lot though.
One thing I discovered while photographing this nativity is that newspaper makes a good background. I wasn't certain how well the photos would turn out, but I really like the effect the newspaper gave.
I've always loved black and white photographs. There is something timeless and perfect about seeing a picture with no colour in it.
These photos of my afternoon tea didn't look right when I took them. The colours didn't compliment each other at all. I had no idea what to do.
That's when I decided to try converting my photos to black and white. They looked so much better in black and white. I'm much happier with them now.
While out walking our dog, Nora, I noticed some beautiful flowers and leaves for me to photograph. I haven't done nature photography in a long time and it was a nice change.
The highlight of my walk was when I saw a lizard beside the track. I was able to get up close to it and get some photos before I scared it away.
Every year for my brother Thomas' (who died) birthday we buy him a teddy bear and name it after a saint. We called this year's bear Michael after the archangel.
Happy Birthday Thomas!
My older brother Thomas lives in heaven. I never met him because he died the day after he was born.
The day before his birthday (the 9th of November) we went to visit his grave. We left him some new flowers and then we had a picnic. We do this every year!
I brought my camera a long with me and took loads of pictures. Today I thought I'd share some of the photos I took while we were at the cemetery.
